Welcome to our summer Blog

Hello campers, parents, staff, alumni and friends!

Welcome to the 2018 YMCA Camp Abnaki summer blog. We are so excited to share the story of our summer with you. This year, we’ll be making daily posts on Facebook and regular blog articles on the website and weekly posts on our  YouTube channel.

Mater Christi students take advantage of Wednesday’s blue skies.

Our biggest new social media product this summer is a daily blog that will spotlight one topical subject and highlight the best photos and videos from camp.

If you’re itching for more camp news and highlights, you have a few options. If you haven’t already liked Camp Abnaki on Facebook, head on over to make sure you get the most complete picture of the summer, including blog posts, photo albums, short videos, alumni news, and important reminders about things like check-in day and deadlines for paperwork. If you have specific questions for our staff, our staff will promptly respond to your comments and messages there.

Camp’s all new website is a pleasure to look at. If you like to keep it old school and stay off of social media, you can still get every blog post right on our homepage.

To access our photos taken each session click here and this link will take you directly to our photo albums.

We also have a YouTube channel, which will be getting a major overhaul this summer and will produce regular content during the summer for the first time.

If you’ve ever attended overnight camp or worked at camp, look for the Camp Abnaki Alumni Association page on Facebook for specially tailored news about alumni visits and events. And of course, you can always reach out in-person, through email, or by phone.

One last thing! If you’re wondering how our busy staff could possibly handle keeping the community up to date every day, don’t worry. My name is Will Keve, and I’ve been hired as camp’s media specialist in charge of photography, video, and all things social media. I’m a former counselor and recent journalism graduate from UMass Amherst. If you have any questions about our social media posts feel free to message the camp Facebook page.

This week we’ve hosted Shelburne Community School and Mater Christi School. And as we end the week, we’ll host Winooski Middle School and CP Smith Elementary School. For an inside look at this weeks rental groups check back Saturday.

Thanks for reading!
