We’re hiring for many positions at camp! All positions are residential and include room & board, except those listed as “commuter.”

Day Camp Counselor

Total Available Positions: 3-4Duration: June 16 – August 20Minimum age: 17Prerequisites: Enjoys working with kids Characteristics: Positive enthusiastic attitude, team player, creative, patient, and funDescription: Day campers participate in a modified Camp Abnaki schedule. Counselors are with campers throughout the day, leading activities, providing supervision, facilitating connections, and encouraging fun! Both residential and commuter positions available.

Cabin Counselor

Total Available Positions: 10+Duration: June 16 – August 20Minimum age: 17Prerequisites: Enjoys working with kidsCharacteristics: Great role model, positive enthusiastic attitude, creative, patient, and funDescription: Responsible for a cabin group of 6-10 campers. Cabin Counselors build community, cultivate friendships, help campers navigate daily camp life, and act as positive role models in addition to teaching skill classes.

Day Camp Director

Duration: June 9 – August 20Minimum age: 19+ Prerequisites: Prior camp experienceCharacteristics: Strong communicator and collaborator, organized, great role model, flexible, fun, creativeDescription: Creates and implements the daily day camp schedule for 25 campers and 3-4 staff members. Communicates with parents daily, and creates systems to encourage effective daily communication home. Encourages and facilitates the building of friendships, skillsets, and community among participants and staff, and works to coach the best from staff.

Village Leader

Total Available Positions: 4Duration: June 9 – August 20Minimum age: 19+Prerequisites: Prior camp experienceCharacteristics: Strong communicator and collaborator, adept problem solver, great role model, flexible, fun, creativeDescription: Responsible for the daily camp life of 30-50 campers and 8-10 staff members. Communicates with parents during check-in and check-out, and as needed. Encourages and facilitates the building of friendships, skillsets, and community among participants and staff members, and works to coach the best from staff.

Arts and Crafts Director

Duration: June 9 – August 20Minimum age: 19+Prerequisites: Must enjoy working with kids and teaching artCharacteristics: Creative, outside-the-box thinker, organized, fun, adaptableDescription: Leads and plans activities and projects for cabin groups and skill classes. Elevates existing arts and crafts programs through the addition of fresh ideas. Maintains proper supplies inventory and organization. Assists the program team with all program team events.

Assistant Waterfront Director

Duration: June 9 – August 20Minimum age: 19+Prerequisites: Lifeguard certification or ability to getCharacteristics: Safety minded, flexible and creative. Must enjoy working on a tightly knit team. Must love the water.Description: Works closely with the Waterfront Director to ensure the safety of all water activities. Conducts skill classes, lifeguarding assignments, and program team events.

Trip Director

Duration: June 16 – July 10Minimum age: 21+  Prerequisites: WFA or equivalentCharacteristics: Adaptable, skilled with group dynamics, sound decision maker, and has an eye for safetyDescription: Coordinates, prepares, and leads a group of campers on a safe 4-day, 3-night wilderness backpacking experience in the nearby Adirondack or Green Mountains.  Maintains group morale, facilitates meaningful discussions, stays in tune with participants’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and adheres to check-in schedule with main camp.

Food Service Director

Duration: June 9 – August 20Minimum age: 21+Prerequisites: Experience preparing meals for groups of 150+ in an industrial kitchenCharacteristics: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, passionate about cooking, comfortable collaborating and delegating in a team atmosphere, strong time management abilitiesDescription: Responsible for menu planning, ordering, storage and organization, and preparation of meals for Abnaki campers and staff. Ensures that safe food handling and preparation standards are met, proper disinfection and sanitization practices are utilized, and that meals are prepared in a timely manner. Supervises 3-4 Kitchen team members.

  • Leadership Training runs from June 9th-15th
  • Staff Training runs from June 16th-25th

Additional pay may be given for applicants with certifications in needed areas: Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and Program Instruction (USA Level 1 Archery Instruction, High Ropes Course Training, US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Instruction, etc.)
