Our beautiful campus

Camp Abnaki has been at the same location in North Hero since 1915. We currently own 70 acres of land with a mixture of forest, fields, lake views, 1/2 mile of shoreline, and over 40 acres of grass.

The body of water that is our playground is called “the Gut.” Here you’ll find campers in kayaks, canoes, sailboats, and swimming. You’ll notice four distinct villages located around camp, that are broken down by age. Each village is home to 5 or 6 camper cabins and a centrally located wash house.

We’re ACA Accredited

We are proud to have Camp Abnaki accredited by the American Camp Association, which means that we care enough to undergo a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of our operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management.

American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at our camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety.
