Counselors are with campers throughout the day, leading activities, providing supervision, facilitating connections, and encouraging fun! Both residential and commuter positions available. Total Available Positions: 40Duration: June 15 – August 19Minimum age: 17Prerequisites: Enjoys working with kidsCharacteristics: Great role model, positive enthusiastic attitude, creative, patient, and funDescription: Live in a cabin with, and responsible for, a cabin group of 6-10 campers. Cabin Counselors build community, cultivate friendships, help campers navigate daily camp life, and act as positive role models in addition to teaching skill classes. Total Available Positions: 1 Registered Nurse, 1 Health Center Assistant, 1 Mental Health SpecialistDuration: June 8 – August 19Prerequisites: Suitable certifications include EMT, WFR or WFA (Wilderness First Responder or First Aid), LNA, RN, Mental Health CounselorCharacteristics: Strong communicator and relationship builder, adept problem solver who stays calm and collected, great role model, flexibleDescription: Assists with operating the camp health center, including general diagnosis and care of camper/staff health and medical concerns, collaboration on decision making process for advanced medical care, communication with camper parents, and medication distribution according to camp policy.  Support the mental health and well-being of both campers and staff.  Will also act as a positive role model within our camp community and be an active participant within many of camp’s games and activities. Available Positions: 1 Food Service Director, 2 Assistant Food Service Director/Shift Lead, 4 Food Service StaffDuration: June 8 – August 19, additional work available in pre- and post-seasonMinimum age: 17+Prerequisites: Some kitchen experience or a strong interest in learning about preparing large group meals Characteristics: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, passionate about cooking, comfortable collaborating and working in a team atmosphere, willingness to work hard and take on various kitchen responsibilitiesDescription: Food Service Staff are responsible for the preparation of meals for groups of 200+ Abnaki campers and staff. Ensure that safe food handling and preparation standards are met, proper disinfection and sanitization practices are utilized, and that meals are prepared in a timely manner. Available Positions: 1 Assistant Property Manager, 3 Property Staff (2 residential, 1 commuter)Duration: June 8 – August 19Minimum age: 17+Prerequisites: Some cleaning, basic landscaping and general maintenance experience, or willingness to learn.Characteristics: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, able to collaborate and work in a team atmosphere, willing to work hard and take on various responsibilities. Able to safely operate basic landscaping and maintenance tools.Description: Property and Maintenance Staff, under the direction of the Property Manager, are responsible for maintaining and improving the 90 acre Camp Abnaki property. Tasks vary from day to day, but will include bathroom cleaning, trash and recycling disposal, lawn care and gardening, and assisting in the general maintenance of the 50+ buildings. Both residential and commuter positions available.

Available Positions: 1 Program Director, 1 Assistant Program Director, 1 CIT Director, 1 Day Camp Director, 4 Village LeadersDuration: June 8 – August 19Preferred age: 21+Prerequisites: Prior camp experience, or strong background of youth-serving workCharacteristics: Excels at collaborating and working in a team atmosphere, willing to work hard and take on various responsibilities. Self-starter, and willing to demand accountability of self and of others. Strong communicator, and adept at setting up rules and expectations for a group. Expert at coaching staff and providing performance feedback.Description: Provide strong frontline leadership for the camp community. Available Positions: 1 Waterfront Director, 1 Assistant Waterfront Director, 1 Sailing CoordinatorDuration: June 8 – August 19 for Waterfront Director, June 15-August 19 for Assistant Waterfront Director and Sailing CoordinatorPreferred age: 21+Prerequisites: Prior waterfront experience, strong background in waterfront activitiesCharacteristics: Demands accountability of self and of others. Comfortable setting up rules, boundaries, and expectations for a group, and following through enforcing them. Important dates to know:

Leadership Training runs from June 8 – 14, 2023

Staff Training runs from June 15 – 24, 2023

Additional pay may be given for applicants with certifications in needed areas: Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and Program Instruction (USA Level 1 Archery Instruction, High Ropes Course Training, US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Instruction, etc.)
