Why choose Abnaki for your events? YMCA Camp Abnaki provides your organization with a retreat location like no other. Surrounded by Lake Champlain, our 90 lush acres provide not only space to meet, but space to grow and play. We are conveniently located just 45 minutes from Burlington in scenic North Hero, VT.

Our rustic, yet full-service conference facility offers a unique venue for your event. In addition to large meeting spaces and breakout rooms, we offer unmatched recreational opportunities, which will make your event not just successful, but truly memorable!

Typical availability for renting (dependent on seasons/weather) is May 1 – June 15, and August 22 – October 10. Contact camp office for available discounts.

Conference Facility and Corporate Retreats

We offer a variety of meeting spaces for your group. Need a large indoor space with seating for 200 people? Check out the Turrell Dining Hall. Need breakout rooms for smaller groups? Check out the Albright Conference Room, The Shed, The Den, and Pike Room. Need space to set up a large event tent? Check out our soccer field. No matter what your space needs, Camp Abnaki can accommodate you.

School Groups

Camp Abnaki has worked with schools throughout Vermont for decades to provide a unique field trip experience. Our staff will work with you to create a truly memorable experience for your students. Start your school year with a September visit, emphasizing community building and teamwork. End your school year with a visit in May or June, and give your students a great send off for the summer. We offer single day or overnight group options, and will partner with you to ensure your objectives are met. We have limited spring dates available.

You can also hold meetings outdoors, with large fields available for a variety of purposes. We can accommodate tent rentals (must be provided by other vendors).

Lodging is available in our 24 cabins. Each cabin can sleep 8-12 people. Our cabins are rustic, but each cabin has electricity. The cabins are arranged in four villages, each with 6 cabins and a small fire pit.

Each village has a conveniently located wash house with toilets, sinks, and showers with plenty of hot water. Each of our villages provide a distinct experience:

  • Mehkoa Village is located near the heart of camp, with cabins that sleep up to 8 people in one large room.
  • Tamakwa Village is located near the Dining Hall, with cabins that sleep up to 8 people in one large room.
  • Madewehsoos Village is tucked in the woods near the basketball courts. These cabins feature a semi-private sleeping area separate from the main room of the cabin. These cabins sleep up to 10 people.
  • Chippewadchu Village is located on a hill at the edge of camp. These cabins sleep up to 12 people, with two semi-private rooms.

Overnight guests should plan to provide their own toiletries and bedding. Our cabins are not insulated and do not have heat. If your guests are feeling more adventurous, we allow on-site tenting at a reduced cost.

Our experienced staff can customize a program built to best fit your organization’s needs. Every year we host a variety of organizations at our facility. These include school groups, athletic training camps, corporate staff retreats, craft groups, weddings and specialty camps. Our flexibility allows your group to take advantage of our unique offerings, some of which include:
